Dr. David J. Mann is a highly skilled, board-certified dermatologist and valued member of our team at Illinois Dermatology Institute, joining the staff in 2010 at the completion of his extensive training. Dr. Mann specializes in skin cancer screening and prevention, atypical moles, acne, melanoma, complex medical dermatology and a wide range of surgical and laser treatments.
Dr. Mann first graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois with his Bachelor’s degree in Finance, before receiving his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, for which he received the Dean’s Scholarship Award. Upon graduating, Dr. Mann completed his internship in Internal Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem through Northwestern University, where he was honored as Intern of the Year. His residency training was completed in Dermatology at the University of Chicago in 2010.
Throughout his extensive training, Dr. Mann’s work has appeared in numerous publications, abstracts and presentations regarding research studies in the field of dermatology. He is also a member of several leadership committees for the Chicago Dermatological Society and serves on the staff at NorthShore University HealthSystem.
In his spare time, Dr. Mann enjoys martial arts, tennis, traveling and mentoring.
Dr. Lorber, Dr. Craig, Dr. Mann, and Erin Melley, PA-C are pleased to announce the addition of Nikki Kim, MD to our practice starting November 2014.
Dr. Kim grew up in Southern California. She then went to Cambridge, Massachusetts and obtained degrees in Finance and Biology from MIT in 2003. Dr. Kim attended medical school at the University of Illinois where she graduated at the top of her class in 2010. After her internship year at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, Dr. Kim completed her Dermatology residency in Milwaukee at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2014. Before and during medical school, Dr. Kim committed time to clinical research with a special focus on skin cancer and the importance of patient education.
Dr. Kim enjoys seeing patients of all ages and her interests in adult and pediatric medical dermatology include, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer screening, treatment, and prevention. Dr. Kim has also received years of training in cosmetic dermatology including botox, fillers, chemical peels, and lasers. She has a special interest in ethnic skin conditions and speaks Korean fluently.
Dr. Kim is excited to join IDI and will be seeing patients in both our Skokie and Northbrook offices. She is honored to be able to provide her services to patients and the community.
Erin Melley, PA-C joined the IDI team in 2001. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown University and received her Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Erin is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the state of Illinois to practice and prescribe medicine. She is a fellow and member of both the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (ISDPA).
She has received intensive specialized training in dermatology from her physician colleagues over the last decade. Erin is qualified to perform a comprehensive dermatological examination, diagnose, treat, and prescribe appropriate therapy for all dermatologic conditions. She is skilled and experienced at performing biopsies, cryotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), Blu-U treatment, and chemical peels. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, connecting with and educating them about their skin. Erin has special interests in adolescent dermatology and acne therapy, and has a weekly Tuesday evening clinic dedicated to these patients. Erin is an asset to our practice and has further enhanced the accessibility and delivery of quality care to our patients.
Amanda Schallman is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and licensed by the state of Illinois to practice and prescribe medicine. Amanda graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received her Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. She is a fellow and member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (ISDPA).
She has received intensive specialized training in Dermatology and is qualified to perform a comprehensive dermatological examination, diagnose, treat, and prescribe appropriate therapy for all dermatologic conditions. She is skilled and experienced at performing biopsies, cryotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), Blu-U treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
She also specializes in cosmetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, and laser treatments. Amanda likes to focus her attention on patient education and prevention, as she believes it is a vital part of every patient’s health.
Dr. Sara Dickie is a Board Certified attending Plastic Surgeon who recently joined the exemplary team at the Illinois Dermatology Institute. She is also a Clinical Educator of Surgery at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Dickie grew up in Michigan just across the lake from Chicago. She gained her Bachelor of Arts degree at Oberlin College in Ohio graduating with honors in biology and a minor in dance. She attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for high scholastic achievement. She was also granted membership to the Arnold P. Gold Foundation's Humanism Honor Society. This society recognizes medical students and professionals who place a high level of value in patient- centered care and promote humanistic values and behavior. These values continue to be a core concept in her delivery of honest, welcoming, patient-focused care with an easy-going and warm bedside manner.
Dr. Dickie completed plastic surgery training at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2012. Upon completion of this 6-year residency she studied for a year under the directed mentorship of Dr. Bruce Bauer in order to further specialize in pediatric plastic surgery. At the completion of that year she joined him in practice, which further refined her skill with soft tissue techniques.
Dr. Dickie has published multiple peer reviewed articles and book chapters in Plastic Surgery. She is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association and a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Dickie's practice focuses on reconstructive surgery for all ages including infants. She strives to provide empathic care and to build lifelong relationships for those patients who may need multiple surgeries.
