Victoria Godinez-Puig, MD
Dr. Victoria Godinez-Puig is a board certified dermatologist and ACMS fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon and dermatologic oncologist.
Dr. Godinez-Puig grew up in Mexico City where she earned her medical degree from U.N.A..M, the most presitigious medical school in Mexico, graduating with highest honors.
Dr. Godinez-Puig moved to Chicago for her internship in internal Medicine at North Shore University Health System. She then completed a dermatology residency at Northwestern University where she served as chief resident during her final year of training.
Following dermatology residency, Dr. Godinez-Puig completed a ACMS fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of British Columbia, where she received extensive training in the management of complex skin cancers, skin cancers, and advanced reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Godinez-Puig has a special interest in skin cancer prevention, women’s skin health, acne, dermoscopy, atypical moles and melanoma. She also has expertise in cosmetic dermatology including scar revisions, and botulinum toxin injections.
After completing her Dermatology residency at northwestern University, where she served as chief resident, Dr. Godinez-Puig continued her training with an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) approved fellowship at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Godinez-Puig has performed over one thousand mohs surgical procedures, and is an expert in removing skin cancers, interpreting their pathologic tissue margins under the microscope, and repairing the associated wounds. She performs a wide range of surgical reconstructive repairs, from straightforward linear closures to more complicated flaps, grafts, and multi-step repairs. Dr. Godinez-Puig is a member of the American College of Mohs Aurgery (ACMS), American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and American Academy of Dermatology.
